You can be the answer to the Darkness
As revivalists, we reflect the light and love of the father in a dark world. In the face of evil, we show good. In the face of hate, love. In the face of confusion and deception, clarity and revelation.
We are not subject to the darkness of this world, we carry the cure!
For this reason, we often show supernatural strength, patience, love and more when most people would become offended, defensive or angry. This is sometimes more an example of supernatural living than any sort of healing or prophecy!
No Need to Hide
We often try to hide our dark secrets from other people, showing them only our best sides. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but why do we do it?
Well, one of the biggest reasons is that we want to be liked, and we want to prosper. People are much more likely to admire us if they only see and know the good parts of our heart!
This is a game we cannot play with God. He can see all of our heart, all the time. There simply is no way to hide from the God who sees and knows all things.
The good news? He still loves us! And He sees all of our heart. There is no need to hide. With God we can be fully us, and fully loved. We are safe and accepted as children of an all-knowing, loving King.
At Rhema Yoga and the Rhema Institute, we go through different courses, exercises and meditations to understand what this means. How does being a child of a loving God affect our life? Our worldview? Our destiny?
Answering these questions, and those like it, bring the life-changing adjustment that release us into a zoe lifestyle here on earth.
God created emotions for a Reason
Often, we think that is someone is emotional, they may be unstable or unhealthy. This is especially true if the emotions people display are what our minds would consider "bad."
But being healthy does not mean suppressing our emotions, hiding our emotions or burying them.
It means processing them, taking them to God, and moving on.
God created our emotions for a reason. Often, that reason is so that we can spot them, realize something is "off" that we are unaware of, but our subconscious is aware of. From there, we can process with God and move forward. At the Rhema Institute we use the 3 Paths to teach how this works, and how to partner with God in this process.
In addition, our partners at Rhema Yoga use their system of Christian Yoga to do the same, using breathwork, postures, meditation and more.
God has a Better Way
Often we want to avoid what we are afraid of. We react when the thing we fear comes up, going into "fight or flight" mode as we begin trying desperately to avoid it at all costs.
When we live this way, we are not being present or living our life fully.
God has another way.
He takes us by the hand, and walks with us on a more uncomfortable journey towards overcoming our fear.
In the process, we learn to respond, not react. We learn to partner with Him. We learn not to be afraid. And we stay present.
We live a full life.
All of this sounds great, but how to implement it? That's where we come in. The Rhema Institute and Rhema Yoga work together to provide practical methods, teachings and more.
Whether you're taking the 3 Paths or getting a Rhema Yoga certification (all of them are actually Christian Yoga, not just the yoga teacher certification), you will be learning how to walk more and more into sonship, being present and responding, not reacting and running.
The Most Important, and Hardest Part
It's probably no surprise to you - whatever you want to do, you have to build a habit for, and that's just not easy.
Starting is the hardest part of anything. It doesn't matter if you are cleaning the house, just starting a yoga practice (or starting your practice for the day), or becoming fit, or writing your book, meditating, teacher training (we love Rhema Yoga's!) or something else.
Whatever you want to do, you have to start. This is the hard part. It's also the most important part.
To compound the problem, everything you do that's worthwhile and will add joy to your life almost surely will be harder to start, and harder to start each day!
These are the things you're going to want to focus on so that you can start them, start them well, and start them every time.
If you learn how to conquer that step, you'll find your entire spirit, soul and body benefiting.
The God of the Earth
In this day and age of modern convenience, we can quickly feel separated from the elements around us. How easily, then, we forget that everything here on earth, even the very water and rock beneath us, is subject to their Creator.
This is why Christians ages ago and now pray God sends rain when we are in a drought. It's why they fast for sun. All things, including the sun, the clouds and the water, are subject to Him! Jesus walked on the water because He can make it do what He wants it to do, when He wants it, how He wants it.
When we really realize that, and understand that, we begn to catch a glimpse at how much control God has over everything around us, from buildings to beehives. How can we not wonder of God’s goodness and faithfulness?
At Rhema Institute and Rhema Yoga, we remember and worship the God of the earth and heaven. We worship Him with our triune being - body, soul and spirit. Our Father is the King of waves, wind and stones, not to mention people.
Forgiveness and Wholeness?
Forgiveness is a major step that many of us forget to take in reaching our own personal wholeness. Why is forgiveness so important? Because when we forgive, we partner with the Kingdom, we act more like Jesus, and we become more like God.
It is often hard for me to remember that Jesus forgave while on the cross, dying. Yet that is exactly what happened. How strange it is for us then, to refuse to forgive someone who says something bad about us, steals from us, or hurts us in some other way.
The truth is, no matter how large or small the offense against us is, we must forgive, and the sooner the better. When we do not forgive, we open the door for strongholds and other demonic influence.
When we forgive, we partner with heaven, when we refuse to forgive, we partner with the demonic.
The demonic culture is one of unforgiveness. That is why Satan is often called the "great accuser." Who would you rather be like?
At Rhema Yoga and here at Rhema Wholeness, we work on understanding what it means to be forgiven, how to forgive others and ourselves, and more. Teachings, meditations and more go a long way in understanding God's culture of forgiveness in both body, soul and spirit.
It is not enough to just intellectually understand the forgiveness of heaven. You must know God, and connect with Him, so that when offense comes, you can be more like Him.
We are Valued
Here at the Rhema Institute, one of the key focuses we have is related to what it means to obtain a level of freedom in our living that can be called "zoe living."
What in the world is zoe living?
It's living in health and wholeness here on earth. It's understanding who we are, who God is, and what He says about us. So much of what God thinks about us and has already done for us sets us free to live in freedom.
He has shown us our value by what He has already paid for us, before we were even alive and on earth.
Nothing helps us reach wholeness, zoe living and more than understanding what God thinks about and says about us.
How does any of this relate to the title and the picture above then?
Simply stated, when we decide to laugh, play and be joyful, we act out what God would have for us. We act as children of the Lord, who has set us free and called us good.
It doesn't matter if we don't feel like laughing and being joyful, when we act that way, we act out of our victory, that was already won for us, and that brings a change and a blessing into our lives, because it declares our destiny to the world, despite our feelings at the moment.
